Nakshatra in its Rashi Environment
The 1st pada of this nakshatra lies in Sagittarius and the remaining padas 2, 3 and 4 in Makara (Capricorn). It is therefore a blend of fire and earth signs.
In Sagittarius (1st pada): the nakshatra lord is the 'Sun' and the sign lord is 'Jupiter'. Both are friends. This gives pure dharma, justice and spirituality. In Capricorn (padas 2, 3, 4): the nakshatra lord is the 'Sun' and the sign lord is 'Saturn'. These are sworn enemies. Because of the influence of the Sun and Saturn, who are father and son, they must labour hard to settle in life. This is remarkable for politics and structural work.
The ideals of Sagittarius and the practicality of Capricorn blend together here. They have the capacity to put into practice whatever they conceive.

Special Astrological Notes
Knees. Joint pain, digestive problems, skin diseases, allergies.
Married life is stable, but owing to the influence of Capricorn there may be some coolness (a lack of romance).
This is a 'fixed' nakshatra. It is therefore the finest for laying foundation stones, house-warmings, marriages, assuming office, and buying property. It is not favourable for journeys or for changes.
According to Varahamihira, natives of this nakshatra are humble, righteous, have many friends, and do not forget a favour done (they are grateful). Parashara praised this nakshatra as "the invincible one".
