The first three padas of this nakshatra lie in Aquarius, ruled by Saturn, and the last pada in Meena (Pisces), ruled by Jupiter. In Aquarius they are philosophers and social reformers. In Pisces their spiritual reflection and devotion reach their peak.
Between the sign lord Saturn and the nakshatra lord Jupiter there is naturally a 'neutral' relationship. This indicates the union of discipline (Saturn) and knowledge (Jupiter).
Since Aquarius is of the air element, this nakshatra aids intellectual revolution; since Pisces is of the water element, it aids the pursuit of liberation.

According to Varahamihira's Brihat Jataka, those born in this nakshatra become wealthy but do not like to spend their money (miserliness). They give weight to the words of their life partner and remain under their sway.
