Nakshatra in its Rashi Environment
The first 3 padas of this nakshatra lie in Mithuna (Gemini, Mercury) and the 4th pada in Karkataka (Cancer, Moon). In Gemini, intellectual power and communication are strong. On entering Cancer, emotions and love of family increase.
The nakshatra lord is Jupiter. Although Jupiter has a neutral/inimical relationship with Mercury, the lord of Gemini, it sharpens the intellect. Because Jupiter has good friendship with the Moon, the lord of Cancer (the character of Gajakesari yoga), those of the 4th pada have remarkable divine grace.
It is like a bridge between intellect (Mercury) and emotion (the Moon). Jupiter's wisdom harmonises the two.
